George Blanche was an industry veteran with two years experience as a field operations supervisor before he began his career with South Shore Security in 1998. During his first few years with the company, George quickly proved his ability
to achieve results at such sites as ComElectric Blackstone and Mirant Energy. Now he is site supervisor at Borders Books & Music in Boston, where he oversees a staff of seven security officers.
Working at a major bookstore in the heart of the city has been especially challenging and exceptionally rewarding for George. He works closely with his team of officers to deter theft,
perform loss prevention and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for shoppers. "South Shore Security's police uniforms help to project an image of a well-protected, closely supervised facility," George said. In fact, George
and his officers have successfully detained more than 150 individuals intent on committing a crime and retrieved thousands of dollars worth of products for the store, while providing priceless peace of mind.
Along the way, George has enjoyed his fair share of celebrity encounters at Borders! A self-described "people person" who loves interacting with clients, staff and customers,
he has also had opportunities to provide security coverage for Buzz Aldrin, John McCain, Meatloaf, John Travolta and more. It's no wonder that George, a true security professional, is excited about every aspect of his job.
In addition to his security experience, George also served in the
U.S. Army from 1982-1988, stationed with the 82nd Airborne for two years and working as a cannon crewman for four years in Fort Hood, Texas. George currently resides in Marshfield, Mass., with his wife, C.J., who is also on-staff at South
Shore Security. Through his hard work and team spirit, George exemplifies what it means to be a South Shore Security officer.
